Marine Corps veteran, M.S. in Cybersecurity.
I spent my career owning maintenance and regulatory compliance programs in the Marine Corps: internal and external audits, corrective action plans, POA&Ms, and process improvement – in short, I was the trusted individual to bring a problem to when the deadline was imminent and the margin for error was dangerously thin.
My desire to deliver solutions remains the vehicle for most of what I do now, and my approach is best summarized by my work: designing systems to be easy to understand; reducing felt complexity to something manageable for someone who isn’t an expert; and being able to close some of the space between where you are now and where you need to be.
Today that means translating security and compliance requirements for small tax, accounting and financial-services firms (FTC Safeguards Rule, WISPs, vendor oversight) and getting small SaaS companies ready for SOC 2. Fixed scope, fixed fee, findings as of a date, plain language.
